AT&T Sued over Ghost Data Charges!



Well well, looks like AT&T isn’t as pure as some think. Apparently they have been charging iPhone and iPad 3G users extra for their data!, they used a method called “Phantom Traffic” stuff is happening that isnt really there pretty much. but I don’t think i could explain it any better then Sebastien of the iDB (iPhonedownloadblog)

“The plaintiff’s attorney hired a firm to track his data usage. Their findings were quite astounding. The research firm found out that AT&T overstated incoming data by 7 to 14% in what they called “a rigged gas pump that charges for a full gallon when it pumps only nine-tenths of a gallon into your car’s tank”…

Want to join in the fun? Well, you might soon be able to as the lawyers are trying to make this a class-action lawsuit.”

If you’re a little confused or haven’t been reading about this anywhere else, a man in California was noticing charges on his bill, and had some guys check it out.

Personally i really hope AT&T gets sued, they’ve caused me quite a bit of trouble as of late.

RubyRa1n next jailbreak tool? February 10th?

Alright so i know its been kinda quite around here lately, i soppose thats what happens when your internet gets locked :/.

but anyways im trying to get back into the swing of things, so i thought id start off with this.

RubyRa1n has been rumored for the next jailbreak tool from one of the greats, Geohot (George Hotz).

Now the last rumor was Ra1nB0wRa1n but that was just a repo of all his “Ra1ns”. RubyRa1n  has been comfirmed has his next tool but a date is only speculation, so far February 10th seems to be a hot topic..isnt that when the Varizon iphone is set to come out?

 

Now we get a little insight to this tool from a Tweet from MuscleNerd.

So it looks like its nto going to be for all iOS devices, aslong as its for 3GS and iPad im ok with that, hopefully others will be as fortunate.

 

I will bring updates on this matter as soon as i can.

 

Verizon iPhone 4 Pre-order Date and Time, and Trade in Info

Alright so im sure a lot of Verizon people are all hyped up about the iPhone 4 coming still, well if you happen to be one of them, wouldn’t you like an early shot at one?

At 3AM EST on February 3rd existing Verizon users will get that shot to pre-order their iphone 4.

But be quick about it because they wont have a mountain of them, and im sure they will go pretty fast. so crack you knuckles and get ready.

but wait..i have an iPhone on at&t..i want the Verizon one! well if you’re this type of customer then you can have th option of trading in your at&t iphone for these prices…how they are going to do this without contract issues i don’t know.

iPhone 2G – 16GB: $60
iPhone 3G – 16GB: $105
iPhone 3GS 32GB: $160
iPhone 4- 16GB: $280
iPhone 4 – 32GB: $360

Hmm..thats alot less than what you payed for im sure..tread slowly down this path.

Dead Space for iphone

Dead Space for iOS Devices has finally come! was i expecting this..no but still its amazing!

This game has got to be one of the best looking iOS games iv ever seen, right up there with Infinity Blade.

The horror you know and love from the first game feels like a direct port to iOS, once you begin it all seems so familiar.

You get a new weapon when you start, a Plasma Saw which is pretty cool for cutting off arms and such.

You start off as Vandel on the mining station Titan, doing a dead for the church, then everything starts to go wrong with a cut of a wire, you are then tracked by your suits ID and told that you are given a chance to redeem yourself for putting the entire station in danger.

if your a Dead Space fan then you wont want to miss out of this one!

-price $6.99 for iPhone and $9.99 for iPad

Varizon offering $30 Unlimited data plan

Well looks like Varizon is pulling out it’s secret weapons as of late.
Just yesterday Varizons website was offering a $30 unlimited data plan for new users.

If I had the cash and the time this almost would be the switching factor for me, but there’s a catch, it’s not forever.
Varizons unlimited data plan is only for a limited time only, after which I assume you will get the choice to choose what kind of data plan you would like to continue with.

But the thing is AT&T offers 200MB for $15, add another $10 and you get 2GB. Varizon offers 150MB for $15..
Hmmm…AT&T may be the worst rated network but I’d still take AT&T over that deal.

What would you do?

Toshiba Dissing Apple!

Well what the heck??
Toshiba’s new android tablet is out coming out soon, apparently there intent is direct competition against the iPad and any other iOS device!

if only Apple would humble themselves and give in to popular demand of porting flash to iOS.

New Cydia Tweak “no Clock Status”

well here is another territory grabber for ya. if you are by chance one of the people who needs space on the status bar for various reason then this tweak is probably for you.

what does this tweak do exactly? well it is pretty simple all it does is remove the Clock icon from the status bar, next to the battery icon.

So pretty much the only purpose this tweak serves is if you have an alarm clock set but you don’t want the icon. then you should install this…other then that theres…not much else to this one.

XBMC Ported to iOS Devices

XBMC is now available for iPhone 4 and iPad and AppleTV 2

Now you may be wondering “annndd what is this?”

XBMC is a Media Center (not a remote)

What XBMC does is pretty simple, it loads videos, pictures, music, programs (not sure what kind), weather, etc on to your iPhone, iPad, and AppleTV 2.

If you’d like to give this a try then jump over to Cydia on your iphone/ipad and add this repo

If you have an Apple TV 2 an would love to give this a wack you will need to be able to SSH into it.

Heres what you enter after you have successfully entered SHH.

$ ssh root@ATV2 IP address>

$ echo "deb http://mirrors.xbmc.org/apt/atv2 ./" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/xbmc.list

$ apt-get update

After it has installed and rebooted you should see it on the screen.

Another Cydia Add-on

Well finally Saurik is starting to get into the update grove with another Cydia add-on.

(sorry for the bigness, it’s from my iPad, still waiting on official 4.2.1 JB for 3GS/iPad)

On the home page you will notice a new button “Themes”

When you push it you will be taken to a page that asks basically if you screen is a Retina Display or not

The HD (Retina) page

And the SD (Slandered Definition) page

Natually HD themes cost more then SD themes, about $0.99 more.

As the Tweet says things may be slow when trying to use this, on my iPad ModMyi doesn’t even refresh its hashes so dont be freaking out.
